Follow these detailed and user-friendly steps to navigate the process of adding items, ensuring you maintain accurate records and optimize your business operations.

  • Before adding items to your inventory, it is important to enter the Sales Tax details. This information is essential for any taxable items you may add, ensuring accurate tax calculations and compliance.
  • Begin by navigating to the items management section. On the side menu, look for the option labeled "Master" and click on it. From there, select "Items". This action will transport you to the dedicated page to manage your items.

  • Once you’re on the items management page, direct your attention to the top of the list where you will see a button marked "Add". Clicking this button will open a specialized form designed for entering detailed information about new items.

  • In the form, the first field you will encounter requires you to select the "Item Type". You will have two options— "Product" or "Service". Make your choice based on the nature of the item you are adding to your inventory.

  • Next, you will need to specify the "Appearance Type" Here, you should indicate whether this item is intended for sale, for purchase, or if it serves both purposes. This information helps clarify the function of the item in your inventory.

  • Following that, you will input the name of the item. Ensure the name is clear and descriptive for easy identification. Additionally, specify the item amount, including the relevant currency. This information is vital for accurate pricing and sales processing.

  • The next step involves deciding if the item is taxable. If it is taxable, you will be prompted to select the various types of taxes applicable to your item from the list of active sales tax options that you have entered before. This step is crucial to ensure compliance with tax regulations.

  • If you chose "Service" as the Item Type, you will find an extra field labeled "Unit of Work". This field allows you to define how billing will occur—whether based on hourly, daily, monthly, weekly rates, or other parameters. Clearly specifying this will help in accurate invoicing.

  • If you want to provide more context about the item, you have the option to add a description. Use this space to highlight any important details that would assist in identifying or explaining the item further.
  • Once all fields are filled out to your satisfaction, click the submit button to complete the addition process. Your newly added item will now be visible on your inventory list, where it will remain until you decide to delete or deactivate it.
